garcia. i'm a san francisco native, born and raised here in san francisco. i'm a single mom. i have two daughters that attend school here in san francisco. i am involved in several different organizations, one being coleman advocates for children and youth. another is a fellow at the -- excuse me, at urban habitat and their boards and commissions leadership institute. i am also an intern at the ethnic study resource and empowerment center at san francisco state. i also recently developed mom empowerment, teenage pregnancy group to be based here at hilltop high school in san francisco which coleman has taken in as a project of theirs. i graduated from city college earlier this year and in may i graduated with my associate degree, two associate degrees. one in social sciences and behavior and another in administration of justice. currently at san francisco state working on my bachelor's degree in justice studies and also with a minor in urban planning. the reason why i would like to be a part of the balboa park station citizen's advisory committee is because i would like to represent the

into that undercover officer's car. san francisco police say this all started at 1:30 a.m. an undercover officer was shot at multiple times from a moving car. pd says the car had three suspects inside. the officer chased them to the 2500 block here of bryant street. that's when the three suspects jumped out of the car and ran away. the officers did catch up with one suspect and then police at the time set up a perimeter to try and find the other two. now, when ee got here about 10 minutes after we arrived, they were able to take down the crime tape. we watched officers search that suspect or the suspects' vehicle and tow it away. we know now this is an ongoing investigation and hope to have more information throughout the morning. live in san francisco, cate caugiran, cbs 5. >>> new this morning, police in oakland are trying to find three home invasion robbery suspects overnight on coral road. police say the suspects were armed. so far authorities are not saying what was stolen. >>> the giants beat the tigers last night 8-3. what a night in game one. a little luck including this rbi double good

'm michelle griego. time now 6:00. shots fired at an undercover police officer in san francisco's mission district. >> one suspect under arrest right now and another man is looking for two other suspects. cbs 5 reporter cate caugiran has the latest. she joins us with the latest. >> reporter: actually i did mention it earlier. the mission district is where they are looking for the suspects. the good news is there are no injuries reported so far. you can take a look at the damage done to one officer's car. san francisco police say this all started at 1:0 this morning when an undercover officer was shot at multiple times from the moving car. the police department says there were three suspects inside. three suspects jumped out of the car. the officer caught up with one suspect and then pd at the time set up a perimeter to try and find the other two. as far as we know, those two suspects are still outstanding and they are currently looking for them at this point. the investigation is under way. we are hoping to get more information as the story develops later on this morning. live in the miss

to target older chinese women in san francisco. since january of this year there have been a series reported. again, it is older asian or chinese women. it involves the theft of jewelry and money obtained under false pretense. nearly 50 of these cases have been reported in san francisco. it's totaled over $1.5 million of losses in cash and jewelry. many of these cases also again have taken place not only in chinatown but also sunset and richmond district. similar cases also have been reported in new york, chicago, boston and seattle. i wanted to invite up a number of the reps from our law enforcement and community agencies from the police department, san francisco district attorney's office rebecca prozan and david chan. first lieutenant art stelini. he's the chief investigator. thank you, lieutenant stelini. >> thank you, good morning, supervisors. as the lieutenant in the special victim's unit oversees the crimes district the responsibility of these crimes have fallen under our umbrella. as you can see in the handouts before you, to date of 2012 we have approximately 50 of these such cases

>> kron 4 news starts now with a developing story. let it right to san francisco a scene of a recent fire. this particular one occurred in the west portal avenue at exactly 9 west portal avenue adjacent to the west portal station. at cafe caught on fire after 5:00 a.m. let's get to the scene we have our kron 4 reporter giving us the latest. have the flames died down?. >> the flames have stopped bursting through which they have been doing the last half-hour. this is a fire that officials say is a difficult fire to fight because of the location of the building. 110 firefighters on seen it is up to a fourth alarm fire. you can see the ladders are spraying water on top of the building. lots of crews on seen as you can the slot and gobble cafe in the background the west portal muni station. no trains are coming through. there is nowhere to go one of the muni trains had to pull over and let 75 to 100 people off. these firefighters are continuing to be on the scene to control the fire. it is difficult because it is on the corner. you can see the flames behind the trees again pop
